Integration Tips
- Physics Material Tuning: To prevent the rover from sliding on steep inclines, ensure your ground colliders have a Physics Material with high friction. The Rover Controller relies on the underlying Unity Physics engine; if your friction values are default (0.6), the torque curves will overpower the grip.
- Input System Bridge: The asset ships with standard legacy input. If your project uses the newer Input System Package, you will need to map your
Vector2drive input to the script’s internal throttle and steer variables via a simple wrapper script. - Wheel Collider Optimization: Set your Wheel Collider ‘Configure Vehicle Substeps’ to at least 1, 10, 1 for high-speed stability. This prevents the differential from jittering when the rover hits high-velocity peaks.
