The pack utilizes 4-level LOD chains for every tree, terminating in cross-billboards to ensure low draw call counts at long distances. The shaders are built with Amplify Shader Editor, offering out-of-the-box support for vertex-displacement wind and dynamic snow coverage that can be adjusted globally. This allows for a single set of assets to transition between autumn and winter biomes via a simple shader parameter change.
Integration Tips
- SRP Pipeline Setup: The pack includes specific support for URP and HDRP v17 (Unity 6). Make sure to import the correct shader variants for your project’s render pipeline to ensure the translucency and wind effects function correctly.
- SSAO Considerations: If using the Built-in Renderer, the Leaf Translucency shader can clash with standard SSAO. Switch your post-processing to use Multi-Scale Volumetric Occlusion (MSVO) to avoid visual artifacts around the foliage edges.
- Tessellation Control: The bark shaders support tessellation. Use this sparingly on trees close to the camera (LOD0) to maintain performance, especially on mid-range hardware.
