Lighting a dynamic scene efficiently is a massive hurdle in high-fidelity projects. The asset utilizes a GPU-accelerated filling mode that analyzes the scene’s voxels to place probes exactly where light contrast changes—specifically at shadow borders and geometry intersections.
Integration Tips
- Static Flags: The MLP manager only recognizes objects marked as ‘Contribute GI’. Ensure your environment meshes are properly flagged as Static before running the calculation, or the probes will fail to detect intersections.
- Bakery Integration: If you are using the Bakery GPU Lightmapper, enable the specific integration toggle in the MLP settings. This allows the tool to use Bakery’s light types and shadow maps for more accurate probe placement than the standard Unity lightmapper.
- Volume Division: For massive scenes, do not use a single volume. Divide your world into smaller MLP volumes to keep the calculation multithreading efficient and prevent the Editor from hanging during the ‘Removing Equivalent Neighbors’ phase.
